i have posted this problem on 2 forums so far, one being Softimage EXP 3 forum and the other XSIbase.com and have either had no response at all, or nothing helpful.
so here it is:
I am running SUSE 9.0 Personal edition and downloaded the XSI 3.0 exp tar.gz and launched the installer.
all went well until it reached the end of the installation and it had an error supposedly, but it didnt state what it was.
since it didnt make an icon or any kind of shortcut icons, i went to the installed program directory and tried to manually open the program executable, but all i got was "application XSI cannot be found"
all the files are there, the directory structure looks exactly like the XSI version of windows, but it wont launch.
Any suggestions?
do i need anything else to make it install or run correctly?
if this maybe have something to do with it, my hardware specs are:
1 Ghz P3
512 mb ram
PNY Nvidia Gforce FX 5200
... i doubt this might have anything to do with it but just incase..
i already have the nvidia driver installed for the direct 3d function.. so i dont think that should be a problem.
