Hello again everybody.
Just a brief note to telly ou guys that ZBrush works with Crossover Office on Linux, at least for myself and a friend. He's running RH 8, and I'm on RHEL WS 3.0.
Here's what we did:
If you go here, you can download the demo version, which is a good way to try it out and see if it's worht the investment. As for myself, I have not messed with it much other than to get it working on Linux.

Okay, so for my setup, here's what I did:
download, unzip and then place the entire folder here:
/home/maudit/.cxoffice/dotwine/fake_windows/Program Files/
Then, copy the contents of the directory (not the directory, but all of it's contents) to your home directory.
Then, if you are using RHEL 3.0, run this in the command line:
ulimit -s unlimited
Then, run this command:
/opt/cxoffice/bin/wine "C:Program FilesZBrushDemo_155bZBrush.exe"
Of course, if your stuff is in a different place, this will need to be altered accordingly. For me, this worked great. Now, all I have to do is do all these tutorials and see if I like the product. From what I read, the demo won't import or export, so running the tutorials would be a good way to try it out. Seems pretty cheap too ($399, if memory serves).
Now, I made an alias for this. Trouble was with using the quote within a quote and the character. The trick is straight out of C++, for special characters to preced that special character by a .
So, for me, in my .bashrc, I used this:
alias ZBR="/opt/cxoffice/bin/wine "C:Program FilesZBrushDemo_155bZBrush.exe""
So, then to launch I can just type in ZBR and it runs.
I hope this can help somebody. There's a real problem with getting 3d Paint on Linux, and this might be an option. Amazon paint is WAY expensive for most users, myself included. I have fully legal copies of Deep Paint and Body Paint (yeah, I paid for them, really!) and neither one will run with cx office. So, for the time being, I've had to reboot on the Windows side and run Deep Paint, which of the two I prefer. Well, I prefer except for it's totally buggy behaviour. I find the Body Paint interface not to my liking. So, here's another option, and also one that won't require using Windows.
best,
-Matt
