i have a question for combustion compositing gurus:
i have a scene and a character rendered in seperate diffuse passes. i want to create motion-blur in post on the character only (note: i don't have combusiton yet so i can't test this).
my preferred method of getting Zdepth info would be to use a depth-shader in maya (fake Zdepth, but i've heard it will still work).
now i'm guessing to apply post 3D effects to the character only i have to render a Zdepth pass for the character by itself, with the scenery matted out.... correct...?
not only that, but any other passes like shadow and specular will have to be rendered seperately for the scene and character...?
